Meet Tom and Lizzett, the owners of Surfari Mexico. Together with Ivan, our head surf guide, they help you find the right waves, progress in the water and feel at home in Troncones.
HOW SURFARI MEXICO BEGAN
A SIMPLE IDEA:

Surfari Mexico began with Tom and Lizzett, a couple who wanted to build a life in Troncones around surfing, hospitality and more time near the ocean.

In the beginning, they did everything themselves—checking conditions, guiding guests, preparing meals and organizing each stay.
​
As Surfari Mexico grew, Ivan joined the team and now leads most daily surf trips. More trusted local and specialist guides followed as the company continued to grow.

The team is larger today, but the original idea remains the same: find the right waves, take care of the details and make every guest feel at home.

TOM
Originally from Belgium, Tom has called Troncones home for more than twelve years. He founded Surfari Mexico with Lizzett and specializes in afternoon sessions, fish and mid-length boards.

LIZZETT
Lizzett is the heart of Surfari Mexico’s hospitality. She makes every guest feel welcome and prepares fresh, high-quality meals, including flavorful vegan menus and options adapted to many dietary requirements.

IVAN
Ivan leads most of our daily surf trips. Born and raised in Zihuatanejo, he began surfing at seven and combines lifelong local wave knowledge with patient guidance that helps every guest progress.

Born in Zihuatanejo, Buce previously ran his own surf-guiding company in Baja California. His patience and enthusiasm help beginners build confidence and better understand the ocean.

Originally from Mexico City, Rodrigo has lived in Troncones for more than fifteen years. He leads our stand-up paddleboard experiences with a calm approach and strong local knowledge.

A competition-winning surfer, Elfi works with strong intermediate and advanced guests. Her focused feedback helps improve wave selection, positioning, technique and performance.
